ICONS OF THE CITY
In addition to the majestic Cerro de la Silla,
there are many other icons in Monterrey that
you will surely want to visit for a souvenir
photo. There is Juan Soriano’s impressive dove
in MARCO museum, the imposing structures of
the Sopladores in Parque Fundidora, the historic
building of El Obispado or the Crucible on the
pier of Paseo Santa Lucia.
MUSIC FESTIVALS
Monterrey has become Mexico’s music capital,
and this is mainly due to its music festivals such
as Pa’l Norte, Machaca Fest, Live Out, Cabuland,
Hellow Festival, WiSH Outdoor and Nortex,
where great national and international artists
and genres are presented as varied as urban,
rock, hip hop, pop, electronic and Texan, among
others.
CITY TOUR
For those who are visiting Monterrey, a
downtown tour is a must. We recommend
starting at the Government Palace, and then
heading to the Mexican History Museum, located
in an area where you will also find magnificent
monuments, such as La Lagartera by the master
Francisco Toledo. Before getting on the boat
of the Paseo Santa Lucía that will take you to
Parque Fundidora, learn more about the origin
of our much loved regional sweets at the Museo
del Dulce.
SPORTING EMOTION
Monterrey has great sports teams, which have
been champions in various tournaments, and the
best fans in Mexico. In soccer, there are the Tigers
and Rayados teams, male and female. In baseball,
we have the Sultanes. And in basketball, we have
Fuerza Regia. In addition, our sports venues have
first-class facilities, where you can experience an
excellent atmosphere.
CULTURE
Monterrey is a destination with outstanding museums
such as MARCO, Mexican History Museum, MUNE,
Horno 3, Papalote Children’s Museum and Mexican
Baseball Hall of Fame, and with important events
that promote culture among locals and visitors, such
as the Santa Lucia International Festival, with free
presentations of national and world-class artists.
LOCAL GASTRONOMY
Monterrey is recognized for its variety of restaurants of renowned chefs, with exquisite regional, international and fusion specialties, and a very original mixology. Monterrey produces award-winning craft beers with a variety of brands and types. Recommended dishes: Grilled kid-goat (Cabrito), Dried meat with scrambled eggs (Machacado con huevo), Pork roast (Asado de Puerco) and Grilled Steaks (Carnita Asada).
EXTRAORDINARY CAVES
In the state there are two famous caves, one
in the nearby municipality of Garcia, and the
other one in the Magic Town of Bustamante. The
Garcia Caves, discovered in 1843 and more than
60 million years old, can be reached by cable car.
The Grottos of El Palmito or Bustamante are the
only ones in the country with 100% accessibility
for people with motor disabilities.
PUEBLOS MÁGICOS (MAGIC VILLAGES)
Our villages of Santiago, Linares and Bustamante
are magic because they treasure all the charm of
the beautiful land, costumes, gastronomy, hospitality
in the north. In Santiago you will see the beautiful
Cascada Cola de Caballo, in Bustamante the exquisit
bread is prepared in a Wood burning oven and in
Linares you can get the delicious “glorias” burnt milk
with pecans. Stay for a few more days and enjoy this
great state.
EXTREME ADVENTURES
For those who love nature and adrenaline, Monterrey offers an endless number of activities.
There is Matacanes in Santiago, the best
canyoning route in Mexico; the Ruta Vértigo in
the Huasteca, a via ferrata at more than 700
meters high; and the highest bungee in the
country in Cola de Caballo, just to mention a few.
All are operated by certified professionals who
will guarantee your fun and maximum safety.
AMUSEMENT PARKS
The little ones at home will live unforgettable
moments in our parks, with numerous attractions
and entertaining shows. Among the main
ones are Sesame Street Park, with 3 fun areas:
Villasesamo, Aquamundo and Adventure Island;
Magic Forest, with incredible children’s, family
and extreme rides, and Star Biopark, with its
Serengeti Safari where you can see more than
800 animals in freedom.
MINI GOLF TOURNAMENT
In Nuevo León the taste and passion for golf have been growing in recent
years, and more and more people have taken up the practice of this sport.
Most of the courses in the state have first class facilities, designed by
internationally recognized experts.

TOUR BUS
The first inclusive tourist bus in Nuevo Leon, adapted for people with motor and hearing
disabilities, visits the best tourist sites and shopping areas. The tour begins at Fundidora
Park, and then continues through the Historic Center of Monterrey and Zona Valle in San
Pedro Garza Garcia. There are several official stops, MARCO museum, BBVA stadium
(Rayados), Plaza Fiesta San Agustín, Pabellón M, where visitors can get off the unit for
about five minutes, or if they prefer, they can stay and tour the area and wait for the next
unit to continue the tour
MATACANES
The Matacanes Canyon is one of the most spectacular in Mexico. It is located very
close to Monterrey, in the municipality of Santiago, Nuevo Leon. Its natural beauty
is impressive, since it has beautiful caves and enormous turquoise water wells. The
tour includes waterfalls, ranging from 4 to 12 meters high. Live this great experience
through beautiful natural routes, rappelling and swimming in fresh lagoons. This
tour is available from March to September, and is operated by certified guides.
MACHACADO TOUR
There is no better way to get to know a destination than through its gastronomy, that is why, in this tour,
full of flavors and traditions, you will be able to have a typical breakfast in Nuevo Leon, trying one of the
most representative dishes of the northern zone of Mexico, which combines dried meat with scramble eggs,
accompanied by gorditas, corn and flour tortillas, which you will be able to enjoy with a natural orange juice,
coming from the Citrus Region of the state. This tour includes a visit to Allende’s Beekeeper, where you will be
offered a talk on the importance of bees in our lives and where you will be able to taste honey, pollen, propolis
and royal jelly
THE MAGIC OF BUSTAMANTE
Towards the northeast of Nuevo Leon, between the Sierra de Gomas and the Sierra Morena, is the
picturesque municipality of Bustamante, declared a Magic Village, full of traditions left by
the Tlaxcalan Indians, which are now part of their culture. We will start by getting to know the
manufacture of mezcal by hand, where you will also have the opportunity to taste it. Afterwards,
we will stop at the historical center, where the Church of the Lord of Tlaxcala is located, as well
as the Museum of Bustamante, to learn about its history. You will also visit the famous Grottos of
Bustamante, where you will take a tour inside to admire the different formations of stalactites and
stalagmites. Finally, visiting a traditional bakery, with artisan-made bread, the most
representative of our state.
VERTIGO ROUTE
The Vertigo Route is the name of the via ferrata, in which you can climb the highest mountains in the
La Huasteca Ecological Park, and rise to over seven hundred meters above sea level. The adventure
begins by walking for about thirty minutes until you reach the top of the Pico de la Independencia.
Then, you will ascend a vertical wall that has a special installation to offer you security, you will cross
a hanging bridge and you will activate the two zip lines and three rappels that are along the route.
The duration of this first level via ferrata is seven hours and is the only one in Mexico.
