Monterrey, the capital of Nuevo Leon State, is the main center of great industrial growth in Mexico and is also considered as an international capital of knowledge and advanced manufacturing. The city seeks the economic development based on open innovation with humanistic values through a synergy between State, Educational and Private institutions.




The Research and Innovation Technologic Park (PIIT) located within the Monterrey metropolitan area was the first scientific park in México, making Nuevo Leon State a pioneer on the development of science parks and areas of innovation in our country.




The PIIT research park works closely with strategic innovation clusters on Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, Aeronautics, Medical, Automotive, Home Appliances, IT & Software, Multimedia, Logistics, Sustainable Housing, Agribusiness, Energy and Tourism.

     
As a main industrial and business center, Monterrey is home of important Mexican companies such as CEMEX, Vitro, FEMSA, Grupo Alfa, Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma Brewery (Heineken), Softtek and many more.
The city is also the base of multiple international companies such as Siemens, Ternium, General Electric, Kia Motors, Gamesa, Samsung, Toyota, British American Tobacco, Sony, Boeing, Danfoss among others.
