PIIT
Research and Technology Innovation Park
PIIT is a fourth generation science and technology park based on the triple helix model, which proposes an alliance between government, academia and private sector to foster economic growth through innovation.
The PIIT is comprised of 110 hectares and offers world class infrastructure and services. It houses over 33 research centers dedicated to R&D and to development of technology based business.
An active member of the Association of University Research Parks (AURP) and the International Association of Science Parks (IASP), which incorporate the most recognized science and technology parks of the world.

Future Developments
PIIT
We are working to ensure that our metropolis becomes a smart city, with good mobility and one of the safest in the world using intelligence and technology; to become one of the most productive regions in the world and to be known for its creative contributions of new products and high value services.
The first phase of 70 hectares is already complete.
By 2030, the 2nd stage will host 10 more centers, for a total of 110 hectares and 50 research centers.
INNOVA CITY
"Innova City" is a long-term initiative that aims to reach a new urban sustainable development around the PIIT, led by private initiative and with an estimated investment between $2,500 and $5,000 million USD in 25 years. In the 2,500 HA adjacent to the park is planned the construction and installation of high tech businesses, colleges, hospitals, convention centers and a golf course.
PIIT in the Community
To promote Science, Technology and Innovation in our society, different workshops and explanatory tours by research centers in PIIT are carried out by researchers to motivate interest in these areas.
EXPLANATORY TOURS
The PIIT promotes explanatory tours for students where they can get to know the laboratories and the work of the different research centers at the park. These tours are adapted to the interest of each school and the age of the students.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP AT PIIT
Students of higher education institutions are linked with public and private research centers, in order to collaborate in projects or activities directly with researchers, promoting the use and development of science, technology and innovation activities. Students are able to gain research and analytic capabilities , gaining experience in solving real life problems through science and technology.
