According to economic experts, Mexico is expected to become the world's eighth biggest economy by 2050 (Forbes, 2014). As of 2014, the GDP per capita was USD $10,958.
With only 4.2 % of the national population, the State of Nuevo Leon contributes 7.4 % of the GDP and accounts for 11.1 % of all exports; more than all Central American exports together (SEDEC, 2013). These are some of the reasons why Nuevo Leon is the most promising state in Mexico.
Government of Nuevo Leon has emphasized the importance of being not only the strongest manufacturing state, but also a "mindfactoring" one. This means to shift the current strategy into one which privileges knowledge and the creation of high-value jobs.
